utah trip from my phone

this last weekend we took a quick trip to utah for a wedding. as usual, we were able to squeeze in some time with some friends and family but not near enough. thankfully we shall return in a few weeks (and then christmas too) and hope to visit with as many people as we can. i don't know how many more 20 hour (round trip) car rides i can handle. we'd like to fly but then we always want to have a car there blah blah. anyway here are just a few pics from the trip.
things that i have to have on every trip? my instyle and camelbak.trudy has this thing where she will NEVER sit. she only wants to stand.things grant needs on every trip? headphones for listening to his audio books.
i think he'd really die without them. a highlight from the weekend? trudy meeting her uncle wesley.

back in action

wow. it's been awhile. life has been crazy. first i have to say THANKYOU to everyone that wished me happy birthday! that was so sweet of granty poo. i'd like to say that i had a fabulous birthday but really i spent the evening and night and next day... barfing. and it was the most horrible thing ever. i have not thrown up like that since i was little, i think i had a little 24 hr flu or something. yuck. that following week grant packed up the truck and headed down to albuquerque to begin his first week of selling. i was soo lucky because i got to stay behind and finish all the cleaning. luckily i had so much help from my family and ward and it went pretty quick. i also made flowers every day and finished some styling services. i did happen to get a chemical peel (from jess for my birthday) and the girl that gave it to me was UH-MAZE-ING. she knew so much about skin and told me everything she was putting on my face and why. i have never been so impressed. so in case anyone is wanting her info... email me. then best friend jess got married. and it was the most beautiful thing and deserves a whole other post. this picture below is of the rest of our haiti donations that we were unable to take ourselves. we shipped 25 more boxes or so. ya, amazing. makes my heart smile.
hope to be doing more posts from our trip soon.
after the wedding, we basically packed up the car with the rest of our stuff (leaving lots behind in storage) and got in the car. this drive was much shorter than our others. only about 9 hours, we are used to almost 40, being that both our summers before were on the other side of the country in DC and Florida. this picture was taken on the way down, southern utah is so so pretty.

so here i am after a week in albuquerque, i have unpacked, cleaned and shopped. today we finally got internet and i don't know where to start besides updating. i haven't blogged in almost a month. i am very sad to leave our little home in orem. more than any other summer. i miss all my friends and family so much. :(. other than that i ate a whole bag of hostess donettes in walmart before i even got to the register yesterday. go me!

bye bye florida bye bye summer

grant bought an old camera at a yard sale on his mission. so before the summer we bought some black & white film and have had fun with it. we will miss our summer here and all the memories we've made together and with our friends. we are so excited for the greatest season of all... especially in utah. but i can't believe that we are honestly days away from starting this long, long, long drive. :)

Road Trip

After returning from California, we came home and starting packing up for the summer. We left right away so that we could get on the road... only to see this for the next 3 days. Our drive was a over 2000 miles from home and that meant more than 30 hours in the car.

But luckily we've had a serious obsession with Harry Potter. We've listened to or read the last 5 books. We've also watched each movie over again once we finish with each book. So.... for this trip we listened to the 5th book.  We love Harry Potter. We pretty much arrived at the exact moment that it ended. I was desperate for the movie so we immediately found a block-buster and watched "The Order of the Phoenix" that night. Basically you could say that when the 6th movie comes out... we will totally be Midnight PremierERS.

Anyway throughout our trip, we ended up having friends in Nebraska and family in Ohio. The locations were a perfect distance from each other, both 12 hours from the other. We were lucky to be able to stay with both, we were definitely pampered and we really appreciate their hospitality (so thank you!!!!). Even though we hated being in the car (Grant was growing a beard), it was still fun. We are so glad that we won't be having to make that drive for a few more months!
