home sweet home

since our summer's are just temporary moves, it is pointless to bring any home decor. we don't even have bedding (besides sheets and a blanket) since we were treated to a king and we own a queen. but i really like to try to make our summer apartments seem like a home. this is the wreath that i said i wanted to do a few posts back. my friend sasha showed me some she made and i just had to make one for myself. probably the easiest craft i've ever done. all you need is felt, pins and a wreath (and pretty cheap, especially if you can use a coupon for your wreath)! there are so many colors that i think would be fun, but i started with navy because its my favorite color.

find the tutorial here.

ps. so i got your comment & that is actually what i was doing to my hair when i had a more orangy/redish melt! i LOVE just being able to put the blonde where ever you want to. grant is rad for doing that & you for trusting him! haha. its obviously working because you have gorgeous hair!! i think what your questions was how do you tell your stylist that you want your natural color blended in with the redish melt you already have, right?? i hope that was your questions... well, i think what you want is your natural just melted into you hair that you have already..that can be tricky because usually the melt looks is where your darkest part of your hair is at your roots & the lightest is at the ends or randomly placed...so you might just have to go all over lighter than you are...only if you want to stay with the traditional melting look. {i hope i am making sense} if not, i would just have her do some random highlights that go all the way up to your roots that are close to your natural color so that way when it does grow out you wont have that harsh line of your mousy color{which is EXACTLY what i have, it sucks!! haha} & you can still have the pretty carmel color as well...i hope that is not too confusing, i am sure i didnt make very much sense!!

I love all your vintage stuff! You will have to help me find some cute things when you get back. If you ever want a buddy to go treasure hunting with, let me know. :) Where are you living in NM? albequerque? I am too lazy to go look. My brother and sister in law live in Rio Rancho. Small world.

It turned out great. I love the color you chose. How darling would it be to make mini ones? Can't you see it now? A hallway of black and white photos in black frames and then a punch of color with a couple mini wreaths scattered in the frame collage too. I'm going to do that someday!
