No More Messing Around...

Grant arrived at Brittany's apartment anxious because he had gone through so much and it had been so long since he had seen her. He had no expectations going into the night, those had been crushed many times over, along with his pride over the past year or so. When she opened the door he couldn't control himself and gave her the biggest hug, spinning her around. Then, trying to keep his cool while they caught up, he played it safe and kept his distance (where normally they were rather affectionate together). Brittany still being in shock that she had the courage to call him out of the blue and invite him over (completely out of her character) was so excited to see him but was also nervous, she really didn't even know what to expect.

The episode started and they sat together on the love seat (foreshadowing?). To Brittany's surprise Grant remained somewhat distant physically--no hand on a knee, no legs touching, not even an inviting arm behind her on the top of the couch. The episode was hilarious and all (her roommates were there too) were having fun but something had to be done about the previously mentioned situation. If Grant wasn't going to do anything Brittany had to take matters into her own hands. She pulled her feet up on the cushion and stuck them under Grant's thigh. She always has cold feet but this gesture was her way of showing him she was interested. He couldn't believe what was going on. He had his sights set on going over there, getting back in touch with her, watching the show, and heading home--that's it. They spent the next 4 hours together; grocery shopping, cooking food and just talking. They had a blast, which really took both of them by surprise, as neither of them had much expectation as to what would go on. In Grant's mind the real test was whether or not this was one of those miraculous nights followed my months of silence or if it would continue on the next day. Brittany loved learning more about Grant. The more she learned about him... the more she really wanted something to happen.

Grant was heavily involved with a highly competitive intramural

softball team--every team needs a good batboy! He invited Brittany to come to their game the next day. She was so excited!!! When she showed he knew that this wasn't just some Summer romance. So, as another season of The Office came to an end our relationship really got underway... this time for real. We were inseparable! Less than a week later we flew to California together and Brittany was meeting Grant's family.

I miss you guys soooo much. I was kind of hoping that your summer endeavors would bring you closer to the Bay. Although, I've never been to our nation's capital and I am always looking for sound fashion advice. Love you both!
