bleh

maybe i'm more of a perfectionist than i thought? so i'm trying to take pictures right now for my etsy. originally i was just going to use the same top (preferably white) for every shot. i figured that would be the best looking, easier to see and would give the whole shop some more unity. but then i don't like how any of my white tops are looking... and finding outfits for each one is just more fun. plus i feel that gives any of you who maybe kinda wanna get one, some more ideas on how to wear these beautiful flores. eh? any advice for me out there? i mean i just don't know what i'm doing here and i'm no professional. i do believe it's important because it reflects me. so i'll just keep taking pictures and check back here for any advice. also i'm sorry i haven't commented on blogs! isn't it funny how you feel like such a horrible friend when you aren't caught up on everyone's blogs? especially when people leave me the nicest comments ever (like all of them!). and just to add to that grant's birthday was earlier this week and i feel bad that i still haven't blogged about how wonderful he is (we are mushy ok?) AND i forgot one of my best friends birthdays this week. :( ya, i'm feeling super cool right now. okay and also i am totally not a perfectionist. just looking down at the post below and noticing that i didn't even ask people to answer a cool question (like name your favorite place to shop, or just what makes you happy.. or anything) AND i look like i have one arm in the last picture. ya. definitely not a perfectionist.

p.s. i will announce the giveaway winner tonight at 9:00!

p.p.s. or try 7:00 the next day! see the winner down below :)

okay, so I promise that I am not a blog stalker, since you just posted this like 5 seconds ago...but I was updating and noticed you did and I am a little in love with your blog..so okay, maybe I do seem a bit weird. Anyway, people who are already practically perfect in every way don't need to be perfectionists because everything just naturally seems to work out perfectly :) I think that if you have fun picking out a diff. outfit for each flower, and it doesn't stress you out (it would me!) then you should totally do that. I love the idea of seeing different ways to make the flowers work, etc. Plus, I am in love with your wardrobe. Okay, that's all from me. Oh, and you are not a bad friend, or wife. Promise. Remember? Practically perfect in every way.

I really like how these sellers show off their fabric flowers. Granted, they sell hair pins, but I think they way they have photographed their product still looks nice and might work for you. Maybe, in the item description, you could give a general idea of what to wear with that certain flower. I always find that most helpful when I look for vintage clothing and the sellers offer ideas of what to pair the item with.

After all, you are trying to sell your lovely flowers, not the outfits. I would avoid photographing your items in any way that would distract your customers from what you are actually selling. At least, just the main photo. I think it would be nice to see the flowers modeled in the other photo options, though. Good luck!

Actually, I really like how you photographed them on the wall a few posts back. I think the rough texture of the wall really contrasts with the soft texture of your blossoms. Really stunning, actually.

When you list them on Etsy, list a few photos {at the same time} that show different ways modeling them and see which photos get the most views. Just a thought.

if i were you, i wold pair them with nuetrals.. maybe not juuust white. but definitely have some plain white in there. maybe put one on a cardigan, one on a blazer, a few on a tank top, a couple on a t shirt, one on stripes. mix it up, but keep it uniform with the angle of shots and the back ground. however you do it, i'm sure it will look lovely. get that shop up soon! i can't wait to order one or two or five from you! seriously so excited. i've been waiting! (i promise i'll be one of your first customers!)

Brit,

I am OBSESSED with your blog. I need fashion advice soon. When do you come back to Utah? Or are you back? I am trapped in this horrible swirling vortex of clothes that don't fit and I can't seem to find my style anymore evil. It is horrible.

I like the idea of pairing them with different outfits, not just with a white shirt. They should definitely be the focus in the picture but I think it shows that they are more versitle if they are shown with outfits. Really, they are adorable so they will sell no matter what you do, but thats my opinion :).
