mark mabry

last year when i found out about the photography of mark mabry, i immediately fell in love. for those who don't know, mark recreates authentic meridian-of-time scenes using both full color and black and white photographs. he has completed two beautiful projects, his first being the "reflections of christ" and the newest,  "another testament." each project includes a book of beautiful scenes of the life of christ and then a dvd that shows mark as he helps to recreate the savior's most awe-inspiring moments as if you were there witnessing the events first hand.

the dvd is truly amazing, we own the first one; reflections of christ. first of all, it's so interesting to see images of all the scriptural stories we read about, with real life people; it creates such a different impression. the photos are absolutely stunning. on top of that, hearing powerful testimony from mark and his life-changing experiences and many others who participated is just amazing. (i can't even imagine what it would be like to portray the role of christ). you can view a slideshow of reflections of christ or meet mark in a little clip here. his newest project - the new testament, i just watched tonight and also loved. the links alone are a must. i mean, i don't want to sound like i'm begging... however i don't really think you could spend 5 or 10 minutes in a better way. i think these books or dvd's (that are both at deseret book and even walmart) are perfect christmas gifts and a fabulous addition for the season.

He is an amazing photographer! He's from Mesa and is everyone's dream wedding photographer (I don't think he does weddings anymore...). Anyway, a couple of my friends were angels, Mary Magdalene, etc. in these photos and they loved the experience. I actually haven't watched the videos or seen many of the photos, so I really need to now! Maybe I'll get them for my mom for Christmas... Thanks for the tip!

I don't know what to say because I just love all these pictures more than I can express in words. We have the Reflections of Christ dvd and book as well and we love it so much. We first saw the photographs displayed at the visitor center when we were in Mesa for platinum, and then my mom gave us the book and dvd last Christmas. I hadn't even heard about his newest project! I am so glad you posted this cause I'm still looking for Christmas gifts for my parents and grandma and this could be perfect. Thank you :) His photography is incredible and as I was just looking at the new testament pictures I started getting choked up. Whoever plays Christ does a really good job with his facial expressions and showing emotion, he's very believeable. Anyway, we're coming to Orem today! I'm not sure what your schedule is like, let me know if you guys want to get together!

Ha okay I hadn't read your comment yet before I commented. I wish you lived up here and we would totally let you watch Cohen whenever! ;) ha. You could still babysit him in Orem though, if you really wanted to. But yes our moms do love seeing him too! Especially my mom, she goes crazy every time she sees him. Anyway, let us know what your schedule is like.

I totally agree. Wow, he is amazing. I can't imagine what it would have been like to be there while the photos were being taken, or to have been able to participate. What a life changing experience. I am in love with his photos. I love how much emotion is portrtayed and the story each tells. It was SO much fun to see you guys. I wish we could get together more often. It was fun to chat and laugh and hang out. I hope that you have a wonderful Christmas. You are so beautiful, genuine, and sweet. We will see you again soon, I hope.

That dinner sounded amazing. I want the recipe for the ravioli. And I think I told you the names we're considering for our baby? And you never replied? And now I think you hate them? And I hate caring but I hate thinking people might hate my child's name. Crap. Now what!
