She's crafty... and she's just my type.

So my amazing wife and I (yes, this is Grant posting) have been feeling a bit crafty as of late and have had so much fun playing Martha Stewart. I have to say that Britt has an eye for color and creativity. I was so excited about our creative accomplishments (I know, pansy huh? Don't tell anyone I've got a reputation to uphold) that I had to post pictures.

First, we had a little stand that we got from my parents. We liked the way it looked to start with, but we needed a bit more color. So, BOOM, a pop of color added to our place.

Before

After

We found our next project while milling around a store that girls seriously lose their mind over; Anthropologie. Ok, I'll admit that some of their stuff is actually pretty cool (that's coming from a man's man--so it means a lot) but you have to admit that everything there is RIDICULOUSLY overpriced. No seriously, pause from the post for a minute--I know for a fact that there are girls out there that buy stuff from this store so they can blog, Fbook, or just diarrhea at the mouth about their new Anthro something! No offense to people who shop there--we just bought Britt a freakin' cute coat there (on sale of course) if you're buying it cuz it's cute/cool/just your style you're fine and don't fit into the above category.

Anyway we were wandering around said store when we came across an intriguing lamp made from white dishes. We both found it creative and of course incredibly overpriced. We thought we could make one just like it! So with Britt's creativity, a few dishes from the D.I., and my manish ability to put stuff together we jumped at the challenge for another project.

The Anthropologie lamp: $198.00

The Barnes lamp: $40

...and p.s. the lampshade was half of the cost.

Cute projects! I love doing stuff like that! Anyway, about the mail...I don't know why important stuff would be going there. Our mail has been forwarded since July. It should only be junk that goes there because they don't forward that. But, I'll be up there in a couple weeks so I'll pick up what they have. Thanks for letting me know.
