Live Your Life

So Grant and I are still loving all the time we get to spend together. It is so much fun. We obviously are still very much enjoying television. Granty poo does such an amazing job at always making sure we have our favorite shows recorded. Basically our collection of recorded shows contains- Oprah (I can't even express how much I love that I get to watch my Oprah, I swear I learn more from that show than I did in High School. Make fun if you want), Cash Cab (Grant is SOOOOO obsessed. He yells out every answer), Wife Swap and Planet Earth. And I think maybe the Debates are on there too. Anyway we love it. Especially with dessert.

We have been able to spend a lot of time with family lately. Grandma Barnes flew out here for her birthday and Dave's, as well as the Iversons and then of course Daddy Barnes and Luke. We spent the night together with everyone playing volleyball, eating and just visiting.

I don't have a picture of just Trevor & Heidi but they are engaged! woohoo!
Me, Kara & Heidi.

Another new and exciting thing- we bought our future children their first present. Random I know but I get so eager to read to them, I almost considered wrapping them up. ha ?

Jess and I took half a day last week to just go and explore American Fork Canyon. It was breathtaking and so much fun. Life feels stress free in the mountains. The colors are stunning. Plus I have learned a lot from Planet Earth, I wanted so badly to run into some kind of cool animal.

Conference weekend was a blast. We watched the sessions Saturday and then while Grant went with his family of boys to the Priesthood session.... My mom, little Cam, Jess and I went out to eat and then to Aida (my favorite) at the Hale Center Theatre.

On Sunday we went down to my Grandma's farm for Conference. We had a wonderful lunch and Grant had fun dancing with the cows. Literally.  The boys all played together. This picture is my favorite; my dad and little brothers trying to catch the football.

And last but not least we have actually ridden the money thief out of our lives forever. Yes, we said goodbye forever to my sweet old Ford Focus.

OUt with the OLd and in with the NEW. I am so excited to be able to drive a reliable car. I can't even express my gratitude. I don't even know what it will be like to not have to start my car from popping the hood and pushing buttons or pulling wires. And unlocking and locking the door from a few steps away? I am so happy.

P.S. I might also add that buying a car all by ourselves (with more than a few phone calls to daddy.. making sure we were making the best choice) made me feel extremely adult and totally smart.

Yay, a new car! That is so exciting. I am jealous of your Dr. Seuss books...I am going to have to break down and buy them, because they are awesome and I am always wishing that I had them. Oh---and I too am obsessed with Oprah. I am sad we don't have our TV anymore, because like you, I have learned a heck of a lot in just about every area of life...and I find myself trying to enlighten people with stuff I learned from her show...haha.

I have a few things to say about your post:
1. I am glad that you updated your blog. It is more than i can say about ours (but I am blaming Troy for that).
2. It makes me so happy that you are back with your families and get to spend time with them.
3. Where did you get your Dr. Seuss collection? I feel that would be a fabulous purchase.
4. Yay for getting a new car. It really is the greatest feeling. Your first car purchase together.
5. Why don't we hang out
6. Why don't we hang out
7. Why don't we hang out
Oh and one more thing
